About Milk n Honey
Milk N Honey exists to guide thoughtful individuals and families in discerning, preparing for, and successfully transitioning to life in Panama. Inspired by the timeless promise of a land flowing with milk and honey, we believe relocation should be an intentional step toward a life of greater alignment, freedom, and flourishing.
Our Story
For many years, Darryl and I shared a quiet but persistent dream: that one day we would retire and live beyond the borders of the United States.
We weren’t simply looking for a place to slow down. We were searching for a place where we could truly live — immersed in a vibrant culture, surrounded by people who looked like us, and embraced in a society where people of color are celebrated rather than merely tolerated.
We longed to live in a place where we could experience genuine belonging — and where we could, in turn, extend that same sense of warmth, hospitality, and connection to others.
But we also knew that this move had to be thoughtful and practical.
Wherever we chose to live had to meet several important criteria. It needed to offer the stability and infrastructure of a mature country. It had to be an international hub that would allow us to easily travel to and from our family and loved ones. We wanted a tropical environment — but one that was not exposed to the risks of hurricane corridors, major earthquakes, or other frequent environmental disruptions.
We also wanted the energy of a thriving cosmopolitan city — a place filled with culture, dining, entertainment, shopping, and the everyday comforts that make life enjoyable.
And, of course, it needed to offer a more sustainable cost of living than what we had experienced in the United States.
But one factor rose above all the others.
Because of Darryl’s healthcare journey, access to exceptional medical care was essential. We needed to know that wherever we lived, we would have access to world-class healthcare.
What we discovered in Panama exceeded our expectations.
Not only does Panama offer modern hospitals and an accessible healthcare system, but we were delighted to learn that the Johns Hopkins Medicine International-affiliated hospital is located right here in Panama City. The presence of such respected medical institutions, combined with the country’s broader healthcare infrastructure, gave us tremendous confidence in our decision.
Panama offered something rare — a beautiful blend of cultural richness, modern infrastructure, global connectivity, and high-quality healthcare.
Over time, as friends and colleagues began asking about our journey and how we made the decision to relocate, we realized that many people were exploring similar possibilities but had no clear roadmap for how to navigate such a life-changing transition.
Milk N Honey was born out of that realization.
Today, we help thoughtful individuals and families discern whether relocating to Panama is the right next chapter for their lives — and if it is, we guide them through the journey with clarity, preparation, and care.
For us, Panama has truly become a land flowing with possibility.
And it is our privilege to help others discover whether it may become their own land of milk and honey as well.
